I have been to Tula two times, and I love it! The atmosphere of the salon puts you immediately at ease, and I like that they feature the work of local artists on the wall. I was offered a beverage as soon as I sat down, and I requested Becky Goodwin both times and got a cut and color. The haircut was great, easy to style on my own, and Becky and I came up with a shade of red that really turned out great! While I was waiting for my color to take, I was given a free hand massage that was so relaxing. I am a very satisfied customer and am excited about trying out some of the other services they offer such as sugaring. The reclaimed wood they utilized throughout the salon was visually appealing, and they really stay within the "organic" theme as much as possible, and I am a big fan of the Aveda products they offer. - Adrian J.
I visited Tula for the first time on Friday when I needed to have my highlights re-touched and my regular hairdresser was booked up for the next few weeks. Emily Askin, one of the owners did my highlights and I'm so happy with the results. She uses a special technique where highlights are painted on (instead of foils) so the color looks very natural and will grow out nicely. I've received a ton of compliments and I'm making the switch over to her. - Kristin K.
Lena at Tula has been taking care of my hair for years. I started going to her when it was a short pixie-type cut, and now it's really long, ~6-8" past my shoulders. She has consistently given me great cuts at every length. She is really careful about making sure communication and expectations are appropriate -- ie, "You say you want to take a couple inches off the length. Here, this [demonstrates] is what I think two inches means. Is that what you want?" So you never end up with that horrific feeling of realizing that what you pictured is NOT what just happened. She makes great, no-pressure suggestions when I'm feeling indecisive and I've always been really pleased with the results. (So has my husband!) - Becca N.
Tula Organic Salon & Spa is tucked away at the lower end of Murray Avenue, past Forward. But it's a salon not to be missed. I've driven past the location a few times, and it was the Tula marquee that first piqued my interest. So I made an appointment to reshape my over-grown and drab long hair with Stephanie. Before she got cutting, we had a great consultation about what I was looking for and my never-ending quest to grow out my bangs. She cut exactly to my specifications. My hair feels healthy, manageable and more stylish overall. - Caily G.
